Terms and Conditions for TreeStory Learn

Introduction

Welcome to TreeStory Learn, an educational platform operated by TreeStory Limited, a company registered in Scotland (Company No. SC603696), with its registered office at 38 Dean Park Mews, Edinburgh, EH4 1ED.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your purchase of and participation in any course, workshop, or event (“Courses”) provided by TreeStory Learn. By accessing our website or enrolling in a Course, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with your booking.

Definitions

  • “We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to TreeStory Limited, trading as TreeStory Learn.
  • “You”, “Your” refers to any person using the website or attending a Course.
  • “Course” means any in-person educational session offered by TreeStory Learn.

Booking and Payment

  • All bookings must be made through our website unless otherwise stated.
  • Payment is required in full at the time of booking to confirm your place.
  • Your booking is only complete once you receive a confirmation email. This email serves as proof of your registration.
  • Bookings close 7 days prior to the Course start date. We do not accept new participants after this point to allow for proper planning and preparation.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation by You

If you need to cancel your booking, please contact us at learn@treestory.org.uk as early as possible.

Refunds are issued as follows:

  • More than 14 days before the Course date: Full refund minus a £20 administration fee.
  • Between 7 and 14 days before the Course date: 50% refund.
  • Less than 7 days before the Course date: No refund.
  • Non-attendance (no-show): No refund will be issued.

You may transfer your place to another person free of charge, provided you notify us at least 48 hours before the Course.

Cancellation or Rescheduling by Us

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a Course due to low enrolment, illness, severe weather, venue issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.

In such cases, you will be offered:

  • A full refund,
  • A credit note for a future Course, or
  • The option to transfer to a different date.

We will aim to notify you at least 48 hours in advance. We cannot reimburse travel, accommodation, or other costs beyond the course fee.

Attendance and Participation

  • Participants are expected to arrive on time and remain for the full duration of the Course.
  • Some Courses take place outdoors and may involve physical activity. Please dress appropriately and check the course description for requirements.
  • We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or discriminatory. No refund will be given in such cases.

Course Changes

We make every effort to deliver Courses as advertised. However, we may need to make reasonable adjustments to content, location, timing, or instructors. Any significant changes will be communicated in advance.

Health, Safety, and Liability

  • You are responsible for your own safety and well-being during the Course.
  • Please inform us of any relevant medical conditions or accessibility needs before the Course.
  • We follow all applicable health and safety regulations, but participation is at your own risk.
  • TreeStory Learn accepts no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage unless caused by our negligence.

Intellectual Property

All Course materials, handouts, designs, and content remain the intellectual property of TreeStory Limited or our instructors. These materials are provided for personal use only.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or publish any materials without written permission.

Photography and Media

We may take photographs or video during Courses for promotional purposes. You will be informed beforehand, and you may opt out by notifying the organiser on the day.

Data Protection and Privacy

Your personal information is collected and processed in accordance with UK data protection laws. For details, please see our Privacy Policy.

  • You may contact us at any time to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data.
  • We collect only necessary data for communication, planning, and feedback.
  • We do not share or sell your data to third parties.

If you have any concerns or feedback, please email us at learn@treestory.org.uk within 7 days of the Course. We will respond promptly and aim to resolve issues in a fair and respectful manner.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
